If you want to have a free vpn, Tor is an easy pick (Sites might block you but eh its a trade off). Tor is better then a traditional free VPNs because it uses 3 nodes, and no single node knows where your going and who you are, so heres how you can use Tor in your normal browser.

Run these commands

sudo apt install tor -y

sudo systemctl enable tor

echo "SocksPort 9051" | sudo tee /etc/tor/torrc

sudo systemctl restart tor

And your all done, now you'll need to configure your browser!

In your browsers settings, just search up proxy, and edit the settings to use 127.0.0.1 on port 9051

And your done, go to check.torproject.org, and you will see your connected.

I don't recommend using .onions sites in your normal browser, and if you want a fun side project, I would recommend you run a relay.
